About
The Broom Wagon Cyclery came to being during late 2020, initially as a part-time business, but it’s name, and owner have a much longer history within the cycle trade.
The Broom Wagon Cyclery takes it’s name from the traditional ‘Broom Wagon’ or ‘Voiture Balai’, and is the vehicle that follows a cycling road race "sweeping" up stragglers who are unable to make it to the finish within the time permitted. If a cyclist chooses to continue behind the broom wagon, they cease to be part of the convoy (and the race), and must then follow the usual traffic rules and laws.
So with this in mind, what better name for a mobile bike repair business!
It’s not just the business name that has a long history in the cycle trade, it’s owner, Andrew first started in the trade back in 1994, whilst in his final year at school. Over the years he’s worked in several cycle shops within the Coventry area, and also managed a cycle hire scheme on one of the local University campuses.
